At the June 21st meeting of the "Friends of Father Aloysius" it was decided to compile an up-to-date list of the "living witnesses" willing to to share their stories. Please help us spread the word.

At the June 20 "Father Aloysius Seminar", Fr. Pat Hill, JCL, Judicial Services of the Archdiocese of Los Angeles, stated there should be a list of 30 to 50 living witnesses who would be willing to testify. He recommended we gather these "eye witness" names, addresses, contact information, etc. now so that a cause of beatification can be introduced with this list of living witnesses. He also stressed we needed to act before the 30 year time limit so that the cause can be considered "contemporary" rather than "historical."
Father Aloysius died on April 6, 1981. The 30 year period ends in two years, in 2011. That doesn't leave much time. If a case is introduced after 30 years, according to the stipuations of canon law, it becomes "an historical case." This makes it more difficult. One reason for this is that many of the witnesses, including adverse witnesses, have passed away or are not able to be interviewed because of age or infirmity.
